A lot of people already know and are familiar with the most spoken languages in the world, English, Mandarin Chinese, Hindi, Spanish, Arabic, and so on. But few people talk about the least spoken languages in the world, so what are they?
Note: I will only include languages that actually have speakers, so extinct languages like Sumerian or Xiongnu won't count
Resígaro language: This is a language in Peru that is nearly extinct because it has only 1 speaker left as of 2017. This is because many of the speakers died during the Putumayo genocide in the 1910s, leading to a decline in the use of this Language.
Nǁng language: This language is spoken in South Africa, also by 1 individual. It also used to be widely spoken but due to colonianism and the repression of this language, it's use rapidly declined.
Tanema language: This language is spoken on the island of Vanikoro in the country of Solomon islands. It is spoken, also by one person. This is because it fell out of use due to people perfering to use Teanu, which is more widely spoken on the island.
Taushiro language: It is a language also spoken in Peru and like the others, it only has one speaker.
Kaixana: Another Arawakan language which is spoken in Brazil. It also only has one speaker.
Despite the few amount of speakers that speak these languages, revival efforts have attempted to perserve this language, like through dictionaries, books, and even schools teaching this language.
